Portland, Oregon swirls around the room today. Memories with feelings of gratitude and sorrow. There were joyous times as well but something was always missing. The pink cherry blossoms that peaked over the river on my daily commute across the Steel Bridge always warms my heart. Far too many attractive people and coffee to die for. Ex lover and new friends always made me feel a bit lost. He wasn’t there anymore but still lived up the street and new friends just didn’t know me the way my family does.
I sincerely miss my quiet times at the park right outside my window and late night strolls with a bottle of wine through the cemetery. Biking, partying and repeats of Sibylle Baier. I left of piece of myself there and will always return to give it a kiss.
I’m home now and I’m loving every minute of it. Thank you Portland for being my crutch. I am forever grateful.

{plant begonias, and orchids in your hair}
Someone told me you had oceans in your eyes,
Cold as shadows over European skies.
Oh yes, working, I forgot how tiring it is. Now it’s time for some rum and coke. Come over and get lost under the stars with me. x

{moths and turtles}
by moths and the sky, i was taken into the woods,
and trained in the moth ways of the sky
Then my sister learned the tarot
she was able to divine my location
I was returned to the other world then
at night I read and I was taken
from home by pages and molds
I was returned to the basement to read
at night I read and I was taken
from my home to the other world then
I was traded for for a pumpkin seed
my mother brought into the woods in a basket
I was brought home again I cried
I was taken into the river by my tears
my brother learned the language of the frogs
he climbed in the river and went under the water
he fought the moth’s army and carries me home
later i was taken from my home by tornado wings
my brother came with sticks from the beaver dam
he fought back the tornado of moths
and wolves
and I was returned me to the basement
the family though everything was ordinary
but I had been marked and was now half property of the night
